Ground Beef Stroganoff

I would like to start by thanking all of you who left sweet get-well messages for me! I am feeling much better today.

The meal plan for the week is: Breakfast, Pan Pizzas, Hot Dogs with Mac'n'Cheese, Pasta with Garlic Toast, and Ground Beef Stroganoff. On Turkey Day we'll be at my aunt's house and I am bringing dessert: Kolacky Cookies, White Chocolate Cheesecake, and Lemon Bars. YUM!

So, dinner tonight is Ground Beef Stroganoff. I love Beef Stroganoff, but my beef usually came out tough. I got this recipe from my mother-in-law and we love it!

*********************************************************************************
GROUND BEEF STROGANOFF

1 lb. ground beef
1 cup sour cream
Stroganoff seasoning packet
1 small onion, diced
2 stalks celery, diced
1 can beef broth
egg noodles

Brown meat with celery and onion. Drain off fat. Add 1/2 to 3/4 of the can of beef broth, bring to a boil. Add the sour cream and seasoning packet, mix well. Simmer for 15 minutes. Serve over egg noodles (cooked according to package directions).
*********************************************************************************

This is hearty and warm and yummy and makes great leftovers (if there is any left).

Happy eating!

  2. Love beef stroganoff! My recipe takes a while to prepare, so I don't make it very often. I use round steak so it needs to cook in order to be tender. I will need to post that recipe.
    Glad you're feeling better!

  3. this sounds similiar to a ground beef stroganoff I make sometimes but we used different seasonings than the stroganoff seasoning packet. It does come out sooo good so I know this one would too!

I'm soooo coming over to your aunt's house for dessert on Thanksgiving; I bet those lemon bars are to die for :)
